(CBS) LOS ANGELES Magician Keith Barry performs daredevil stunts -- such as driving a car at top speed on a winding road while blindfolded, and defying a real hangman's noose -- on his CBS primetime special, "Keith Barry: Extraordinary," on May 12 at 8 p.m.

Barry, who has been performing magic since age 14, dazzles his celebrity guests with sleight-of-hand and mentalism effects. He gambles $1-million on a card trick with Vivica Fox and her friends, and performs mind-control "experiments" with Matthew McConaughey and Jessica Simpson. And he plays an unusual game of Russian roulette with Elijah Wood and Rachel Hunter.

Barry, who grew up in Ireland, conquered Hollywood in April 2005, when he invited entertainment industry execs to his live stage show, "Brainwashed," at the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood. He's had his own MTV special, has guest-starred on "CSI Miami," and his TV series “Close Encounters With Keith Barry” now airs in 28 countries.
