One magician made a cool 57 million dollars last year, according to Forbes annual report. Another made the list of top one hundred performers with 2 million dollars.
Who made what?
2 Million dollar man
57 million dollar man
I'm surprised one made so much, and I'm sort of surprised the other made so little. ( No - I don't actually think I'm keeping you in suspense ) I can think of a couple of other magicians who probably should have made this list, except their income is not the result of publicly announced contracts, and thus, not documentable by Forbes standards..

Copperfield's been making that kind of money for years. Sigfried and Roy used to be on the Forbes list, too. When you consistently do sold-out shows, you'll rank with the biggest rock acts.
If you follow the music business, you know that the CD these days is just an infomercial for the tour. Madonna is the #1 musician because she's willing to tour around the world (like Copperfield.)
If Blaine could figure out how to tour, he'd move up the list.
I agree. I read that Blaine is preparing four specials for network tv, in which he is being paid a quarter mil each. That's cheap! He really needs a new agent.
When you consider the number of sitcom stars that make from half mil to one mil per episode, David's one hour special rate is way underpriced..
Also, what about Lance Burton? Magic's 'billion dollar man' contract should be earning him far more that Blaines two million a year. And Lance's contract was reasonably 'public', so Forbes shouldn't have a problem with verification.
I was a little surprised by Copperfields because in years past he has made in the forty to forty-five million range, and he has had no specials, and no world tour that I know of.. Only North America.
Copperfield WILL adapt Burtons model and set up stage somewhere, Vegas probably, although right now he is doing an extended performance in Branson.
Copperfield should be able earn a solid fifty million a year with a vegas show, and not have to travel the world to do it...
